Silver, green tourmaline, 18ct gold, pink sapphire
When designing jewellery, I tend to keep a focus on the form and structure of the metal. When combining gemstones, I want them to be a detail rather than the main focus of the piece. This ring followed the same idea. I wanted the form to be simple but striking with a hint of colour. This piece creates the impression of open space with the gold splitting into three fanned sheets that again taper into another solid band of gold that curves around the finger. Each fan of gold is curved to give a soften shape to the ring, that allows it compliment any finger.
I love capturing the world around me and seeing how nature grows and develops. This forms some of the inspiration for my designs. I also like to show my work in progress here, as each piece is uniquely different from commissions to my collection pieces.
