I suffer from hay fever and last summer decided to investigate the cause of it. I discovered the amazing structure and complexity of pollen and natural dust. This discovery has formed the bases of my research for this years degree show. It was in particular the irritable pollen grains, their spikiness in contrast to their organic shape which became a starting point to develop a series of drawings for a range of decorative forms. The pieces portray a contrast of fragile form and austere detail which explore scale, mixed metals in muted tones of colour.
I love capturing the world around me and seeing how nature grows and develops. This forms some of the inspiration for my designs. I also like to show my work in progress here, as each piece is uniquely different from commissions to my collection pieces.
